Andrew Jane
Managing Director, Life Sciences
Andy is one of the three founders of Talu Ventures which was established in January 2013 as the successor to CM Capital. He joined CM Capital in August 2003 and assumed the role of Life Sciences Partner in 2006. Prior to his venture investment roles, Andy spent 15 years in biomedical R&D project management, marketing and business development. His primary expertise is in the commercialization and globalization of IT and medical technologies as well as molecular diagnostics.
Andy has active Board roles across the CMVT4 Life Sciences portfolio and he applies his international experience in business development, contractual negotiation, strategic relationship building and licensing to support his diverse range of portfolio companies.
From 1999 to 2003, Andy was the Director of Business Development & Licensing Lake Technology, based in Sydney, prior to its ASX listing. There, he was instrumental in the early worldwide business development and marketing of Dolby Headphone™ and Dolby Virtual Speaker™ technologies which have since been adopted by leading brand consumer electronics companies, mobile phone and PC companies. Lake Technology acquired by Dolby Labs in 2003.
In 1994, Andy joined the clinical diagnostics company AGEN Biomedical initially as a research and development Project Manager and then as Manager of Business Development.
Prior to AGEN, Andy spent four years at the CSIRO Division of Radiophysics as a Research Project Manager in the Ultrasonics Laboratory. His focus was on medical ultrasonics and its application in the Australian meat and livestock industry.
Before his career in private equity, Andy spent time at the Papua New Guinea University of Technology where he lectured in Physics and Biomedical Engineering.
